Lady Warriors fall short against Wyalusing

The Canton Varsity Girls Basketball team came up short in a 48-40 loss to Wyalusing on Monday, January 20.

After falling behind 18-9 after the 1st quarter and trailing 28-16 at halftime and 36-18 after the 3rd quarter, the Lady Warriors made a furious comeback attempt in the 4th quarter. Canton outscored Wyalusing 22-12 over the final 8 minutes but came up just short.

Elle Binford (13) and Raeann Roupp (12) led the Lady Warriors in scoring while Molly Ward had 20 rebounds to lead Canton. Emmie Tymeson had 7 points off the bench, Ward added 6 points to her rebound total, and Reagan Kelley rounded out the scoring with 2 points.

Madison Putnam led all scorers with a game-high 22 points.

The loss drops the Lady Warriors to 8-7 (5-5 NTL Small School Division). Canton hosts North Penn-Mansfield on Wednesday, January 22.
