Towanda's Rodenhizer, Galeton duo fall at boys' tennis states.

Towanda's David Rodenhizer fell in his first match at the PIAA boys' tennis Singles Tournament Friday.

Rodenhizer, District IV's top seed, fell to the District VII's second seed, Josh Raymundo of Mars Area 6-1, 6-0.

Raymundo then lost to Wyomissing's Andre Fick 7-6, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.

South Williamsport's Christian Cioffi, the other District IV representative, fell in the opening round to Sewickly Academy's Luke Ross 6-0, 6-1.

Ross is District VII's top seed and he went on to win his quarterfinal match 7-6, 6-3.

In doubles action Galeton's duo of Dakota Shadle and Tyler Dugan fell to Winchester Thurston's Charlie Orr and Max Pollack 6-0, 6-3 in the opening round.

Shadle and Dugan were District IV's top seed while Orr and Pollack were the second seed out of District VII.

Orr and Pollack then lost to Lancaster Country Day's Sebastian Pena and Karl Anderson 7-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.

Hughesville's Mitchel Thomas and Josh Fry fell to Sewickley Academy's Ryan Gex and Luke Vith 6-0, 6-2 in the opening round.

The match-up was between District IV's second seed and District VII's top team.

Gex and Vith then defeated East Pennsbroro's Erik Etter and Logan Gouse 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in the quarters to advance.
