Fifth inning rally leads Lady Warriors past Towanda

Canton scored 12 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to pull away from Towanda 18-9 in NTL softball action.

They were down 9-6 until that point.

Three different players - Keri Wesneski (3-for-4), Allyson Butcher (2-for-4), and Jillaney Hartford (3-for-3) - all had home runs on the day. Wesneski finished with 4-RBI, and a run scored, Butcher also had a double with two runs, and 3-RBI, and Hartford knocked in three runs, while scoring four times.

Emmi Ward (4-for-5) had two doubles with two runs, and 4-RBI, Mae Kinner (2-for-4) had a double with 2-RBI and two runs scored, Molly Ward (1-for-4) had a run scored with an RBI, and Alexis Baldwin (1-for-4) had a double with two runs, and an RBI. Jillian Shay walked three times to score twice, while Marissa Ostrander also scored twice.

Shay started in the circle, going three innings to allow nine hits, two walks, and five runs, four of which were earned. Wesneski got the win in relief, going four innings, with two strikeouts, one walk, nine hits, and four runs, two of which were earned.
